Week 2, and I'm learning alot about blogs, though I'm still not sure about navigating through my own yet. I see the value of an organizational blog to elicit public opinions and share happenings, news, resources with interested people.
Hi, I’m originally from Minnesota, where I obtained by BSN at St. Olaf College, and my masters in Public Health at the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis). I have an interest in disadvantaged populations, and spent one semester in South India as an undergraduate, and completed my masters thesis on migrant farmworkers on the Delmarva Peninsula.
After a year at Johns Hopkins Hospital (where I met my husband, Jim), most of my experience has been in Community Health, doing home visiting, telehealth, nursing management, case management, admissions consulting, and clinical trials research. I’ve also enjoyed nursing in schools, summer camps, migrant farm communities, and group homes.
We moved to upstate New York three years ago (after 15 years in Connecticut), with our two boys and two dogs. I spend my free time outdoors when I can- camping, canoeing and kayaking, downhill and cross country skiing. Around home, I like gardening and reading all kinds of books (mysteries are my favorites).
